Princess Sirindhorn International Center for Research, Development and Technology Transfer

is operating under the Royal Project assigned by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to support and coordinate research, development and technology transfers, nationally and internationally.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the Opening Ceremony of Princess Sirindhorn International Center for Research, Development and Technology Transfer and, at the same time, the Opening Ceremony of the Kasetsart University Learning Center, which was named in her honor “Debaratana Vidhayachote Building" on 19 May 2006, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen.

Vision

Under the auspices of Thailand's Royal Initiatives and Projects, to improve the quality of life, living conditions, and the educational opportunities for people who have unmet needs and live in remote, rural areas of Thailand, by collaborating with public and private institutions as well as international organizations.

Mission

  1. Under the Royal Initiatives of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, to conduct research related to the quality of life and sustainable development of the populace in remote, rural areas of Thailand, integrating five areas of special focus: education, nutrition and health, economics and occupational stability, conservation of natural resources and the environment, and preservation of the local cultures, traditions, and ways of living of the people. All development activities should consider, and benefit from, the good, local wisdom of the people, and promote sufficiency economy principles that create sustainable, self-reliant communities.
  2. Transfer appropriate knowledge and technologies to communities under a Royal Initiative Project, and to neighboring countries.
  3. Build a resource database of information gained from the research, including geographic information, focusing on the targeted areas, specifically Thailand's border regions and other areas remote from transportation systems, which have scarce economic resources or face other disadvantages.
