On 15 September 2023, at 10.00 a.m., in meeting room 303, on the 3rd floor of Boon Intharamphan Building, Faculty of Fisheries at Kasetsart University. Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs presided over the closing ceremony of the short-term student exchange program 2023 between Kasetsart University and Kyoto University, which carried out activities for 2 weeks, along with Professor Eiji Nawata, Director of Kyoto University ASEAN Center; Prof. Hirokazu Higuchi; and Prof. Hiroshi Kamitakahara, Graduate School of Agriculture; and personnel of the International Affairs Division at Kasetsart University attended in the closing ceremony.
In this regard, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs congratulated and emphasized the strong relationship between the two universities that have carried out cooperative activities for more than 10 years and hoped that students from Kyoto University who participated in the KU – KU Short-term Student Exchange Program 2023 will gain knowledge, experience, and impressions during their two-week exchange in Thailand.
Prof. Hirokazu Higuchi, Graduate School of Agriculture, brought into a presentation of Japanese students' work on topics related to Thailand, comprising of Group 1. Costume in Thailand: Modern Fashion, Ethnic Minority Costumes, Thai Buddhist monk's robe, Cloth and Patterns Group 2. Various Regions in Thailand: Perspectives from Buddhism, animism and some others, Temples in Thailand Group 3. Food in Thailand and Japan: Background of food comparison between Thailand and Japan, Comparison of dining manners between Thailand and Japan, What Thai people usually eat, differences in taste preferences between Japan and Thailand and Group 4. Plants connected to other fields: Green growth strategy in Japan since 2020 to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, BCG Model in Thailand, Compare industries in Thailand and Japan; and lastly provided an opportunity for students and teachers to discuss and exchange opinions on the above issues together.
Then, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs announced the closing remarks of KU – KU Short-term Student Exchange Program 2023 and awarded certificates to students from Kyoto University, Japan, followed by a group photo together as a souvenir. This concludes the cooperation activities completely.
