Associate Professor Dr. Chainarong Sakulthaew received a Royal Certificate of Recognition from HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya of Thailand for the National Research Awards: Invention Award (Fiscal Year 2026) for his work titled “Prototype System for Treating Residual Antibiotics in Hospital Wastewater (Ozone-Act).” He also received the National Research Awards: Invention Award (Fiscal Year 2026 – Good Level) from the National Research Council of Thailand, under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, for the same project.
This research was conducted through collaboration among several organizations, including Kasetsart University (led by Assistant Professor Dr. Peerakan Banjerdkij, project leader), Mahidol University, the Department of Health Thailand under the Ministry of Public Health Thailand, Phra Nang Klao Hospital, and the National Science and Technology Development Agency Thailand.
The awarded project focuses on developing a practical prototype system for treating antibiotic residues in hospital wastewater, effectively addressing the problems of antibiotic contamination and antimicrobial resistance in healthcare wastewater systems.
