Receipt of Abstracts

For papers to be considered, an abstract or a summary of less than 250 words should be sent to the seminar secretariat by 30 November 1998.Completed papers should reach the secretariat by15 December 1998

Venue

The Conference will be held on the campus of Kasetsart University located approximately 8 km. from the Bangkok International Airport. Founded in 1943, The University today has 14 faculties, a graduate school and a number of institutes. As one of the o ldest universities in Thailand, it has maintained a highest reputation both nationally and internationally with the present student population of 24,500.

Accommodation for the Conference participants

RECOFTC, Regional Community for Foresty Training Center, which is on the University campus is the main conference accommodation.
All accommodation bookings can be made through the Conference Secretariat. Those participants who would prefer alternative accomodation to the RECOFTC should indicate this on the Conference Registration Form.

The Asian Rural Sociological Association

Set up in 1996 as an incarnation of Asian Rural Sociology Working Group (ARSWG), the Asian Rural Sociological Association aims to promote rural studies and rural sociology in the region. Prof. Tae-Young You of Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea, is its f irst and current President. The two Vice-Presidents are Profs. yoshio Kawamura, Ryukoku University, Kyoto, Japan, and Surichai Wun'Gaeo, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. ARSA Council members are : Prof. Kalyan SankarMandal, (India), Dr.Rui Quing Huang, (China), Prof. SamuelE.
