1. Long Term Goals: 1. To effectively implement the Beijing Platform of Action (BPFA) in order To enhance women's advocacy with government through demand for action 2. To sustain the impacts of Non Government Organizations effort on Addressing discrimination against or promoting quality for women 3. To prepare the women to meet the challenges of the Twenty First Century 4. To sustain the monitoring and evaluation of the governments' Commitments on the implementation of global conferences platform of actions on women 5. To strengthen institutional mechanisms for the advancement of women 2. Specific Objectives: 1. To provide a regional forum of the widest possible NGO participation In the Beijing Platform of Actions review 2. To review and appraise Governments and NGOs actions in the Implementation of the Beijing Platform of Actions 3. To identify the emerging trends, issues and concerns arising from the NGO assessments 4. To formulate follow-up NGO actions for the governments and NGOs at The national, regional and international levels 5. To highlight the major issues emerging and persisting in the regions to respective government
